Timing Suggestion & Shot Lists

Do we need to give you a list of shots?

No, this isn’t necessary. I have shot lots of weddings and I know what is important to capture. But if you have anything that is particular to your wedding, anything that is really special or different, please let me know about it.

What Do You Normally Photograph?

The Bride Getting Ready

Details such as dress, accessories, flowers, shots with family and bridesmaids, before leaving for ceremony, pictures of transport and getting to the ceremony.

Ceremony

Walking down the aisle, vows, exchanging of rings, signing the register, (please note some venues are more strict about actual photos during the ceremony so this may not be possible, also a lot of the time the signing of the register must be staged due to legal reasons).

Reception

Candid guest shots, drinks reception, large group shots, smaller family and friend group shots, creative bridal party shots, couple shots, reception details of tables, cake, flowers, guest books etc, the decorated room, receiving line, couple arriving into reception, candid shots of the room while people having meal, if sitting with guests I will photograph the food, speeches, cutting of the cake, first dance.

We would like to book your 8 hour package. What will be covered, and isit enough time?

The 8 hours can cover what hours you want, for example a typical wedding would be from getting ready to the first dance. But you can have the ceremony till the evening reception if preferred.

How would you advise I plan the timings for the day to get the best photos?

Typically Most Wedding I would Spend:

2 hours getting ready with the bride

1 hour at the ceremony

2 hours for group shots and creative shots of the bridal party

2 hours over the wedding breakfast (1 Hour Break)

1 hour for speeches and cutting the cake and the first dance.

Please remember that if you want to have photos of you cutting the cake and your first dance, this will have to happen within the 8 hours of your package, or we will have to stage these before I leave.

Please leave around 1 – 2 hours for the group shots, bridal party shots and creative shots, this is best to do after the ceremony as light is very important, if you are having a winter wedding please remember that light is needed for these shots and that they should be finished by 4pm.

Can we add additional hours to our package?

Extra hours are priced at £100 each and you will receive and extra 50 retouched photos for each hour.

When is the best time for our photos?

Light is the most important thing for photos. The best time of the day for your photos after the ceremony is the hour and a half before sunset, when the light is beautiful and soft.
